Quimera Music

Quimera Music is the brainchild of vocalist Quimera (pronounced Ki-Me-Ra). Her love of music began from the moment she heard the first musical notes in childhood, but it was not until the summer of 2007 that she took her first steps towards a professional music career, and began to define her own style.

By the end of 2008, Quimera's voice began to emerge as a powerful Alto with a very unique Contra-Alto tessitura range, this opening the gates for her music and style to evolve as well. Now known as Quimera Music, image and music continued evolving.

In 2009 Patrick Rundbladh joined Quimera Music as official composer and music director, it was then that Quimera Music began to produce the specific style and quality of music and vocals that Quimera had been aiming for, from the onset of her professional career. Patrick Rundbladh (Composer, Guitarist), Reed Taylor (Sound Engineer, Bass) and Quimera (Vocals, Lyrics and Vocal Melodies) were the perfect mix, Quimera Music was born. With the release of the songs Face To Face, Requiem and Starlight, Quimera Music began to receive media and fans recognition, being hailed as “Hypnotic”, “The new sound the music industry is looking for” and “Otherworldly Magic”. In November 24th 2009 Quimera Music's debut album, a collaborative effort titled Love and Madness released under the Argentinean label Twilight Records, to very favorable critic reviews and support from radio stations and fans, showing the first signs of Quimera Music as a very promising act.

In the spring of 2010, Quimera and Patrick began writing Quimera Music's second full studio album titled IMMORTAL, a colossal 20 track double album, planned for 2012 release and fully written by Patrick and Quimera. In the same year, Quimera's voice was included in the soundtrack for the independent film Somewhere In Between (Released 2010). Also in 2010, the song When Tomorrow Comes, especially written to benefit the children of The Smile Train Charity released.

In 2011, Drummer Christian Vardeleon joined Quimera Music, and the permanent touring band was assembled. In August 23, 2011 More Than Human EP was released. More Than Human EP is a Deluxe nine song EP meant to serve as a preview of their upcoming double album IMMORTAL and to showcase where Quimera Music had evolved to from 2009. Quimera Music spent a great portion of 2011 in their first promotional New York circuit tour titled More Than Human.

2012 Brings the release of Quimera Music's double album IMMORTAL, on March 13. Quimera Music is embarking on their most ambitious tour yet, their new album and IMMORTAL Tour is expected to solidify Quimera Music's place in the mainstream world of music.

Quimera Music continues establishing their recognizable sound, which they describe as “An integration of Classical, Rock and Cinematic Melodies.” The combination of their elegant style, music and Quimera's unmistakable velvety voice, transforms songs in to unforgettable auditory phenomena.

Reaching their audiences with music and vocals that range from warm and soft, to aggressive and moving, Quimera Music's haunting and awe inspiring grandeur create unique worlds meant for audiences to lose themselves for a while.
