Music. It all go`s back to a 10th birthday and a red white and blue Buck Owens guitar from Kmart. That guitar led to Don Rich and Buck to Mick and Kieth to Tyler and Perry and the four kings John, Kriss, Waylon and Willie. It teaches guts it makes you loyal and it keeps you timeless. The Gasoline Bros. are a group of singer`s songwriter`s,pickers and friends. Founded by songwriting partners Ray Strickland and David Piper. The idea was to get as many great players together to write and play our brand of southern Britt rock with a touch of George Jones. The other idea was to play it for one reason love. Love of the music and love of playing it together. If somewhere along the way other people love it we can ask for no more. The first person to join us in this was Jeff Bakos. Jeff owns Bakos Amp Works a recording studio in Atlanta known for the creation of the Ponce de Leon sound. Jeff has done a ton of great records. Look into him more and you will see why we went to him first. The second guy was easy, Rick Richards a founding member, singer song writer and lead guitar player for the Georgia Satellites. We were recording one day and were talking about if a band like the Georgia Satellites came to Nashville today they would be huge. Hell more than a few of those Nashville cats have been stealing Rick..s licks for years. He was such a big part of the GS sound. Go get any of the records and study on Rick and you will see why we are so proud to have him with us. Oh one more thing when Izzy Stradlin left Guns and Roses to start his on band the first person he called was Rick. Now that brings us to number 3 Any one who knows the history of Atlanta music knows the best all round drummer to ever come out of here is Billy Pitts. This has been said before and it is true, Billy is the best friend a song writer ever had. He can be Ringo He can be Joey Kramer. Billy played with so many great bands its to long to list But when Rick needed a drummer for the Satellites Billy was the only one asked. Last but not least is Joey Huffman. Joey plays keys and is a top notch producer. He has played with Soul Asylum, Matchbox 20, Butch Walker, Hank Williams J.R and even Mick Jagger. Any time Joey shows up to turn knobs or play keys you are 10 times better he is the best. We are thankful for every chance we get to play music with all our friends.
