What happens when one of Germany’s best soul singers crosses over to the world of alternative rock? Singer Charles Simmons with Dennis Poschwatta, Henning Rümenapp and Stefan Ude come together to form an exciting new band under the name iO (pronounced “eye-oh”).

The guys are no newcomers to the german music scene, however: Charles, known for his work with many national and international artists including Mary J. Blige Shaggy, Sabrina Setlur and Glashaus, and Dennis, Henning and Stefan as members of Germany’s most successful alternative rock bands of all time, the Guano Apes. Despite their individual accomplishments, the band iO is starting from scratch, setting out to excite and impress audiences worldwide - not with the successes of the past, but with a sound and attitude aimed toward the future.

Was it fate or coincidence that their paths crossed? Four musicians, musically worlds apart, but with the same vision; creating music with power, intensity and message, designed to move the masses. The missing pieces of the puzzle have come together!

The result: an explosive combination of heavy guitars coupled with the sometimes soft and soulful, sometimes furiously rock-tinged vocals of frontman Charles Simmons: music that is dynamic and energetic and lyrics that are full of depth and emotion.
