Any try to describe roDDie in a few words would not do justice to him.
There are several reasons for that: his charisma is catching, his character
is complex and his abilities are incredibly versatile. And that`s exactly what
is reflected in his music. Born in Douala, Cameroon, it is a small wonder
that the 18-year-old is about to find his place in the music business."I was born with music
and music is a part of me for real, i feel and think music", he says.
When asked about his music and why people think it is something special,
he answers: "People like it `cause it`s a very peculiar mix of Hip Hop, R&B, Soul
and Jazz. When it comes down to the point i lay down my own musical rules. Plus,
I`m really able to create audible stuff all on my own in my home studio.
I set great store to emotions and melodies, that`s what you hear when I do my thing.
Some people think rap has to look like that or sound like this or that but when I do it
I show them another side of it. A conscious music with emotions, love and even street-mentality.
That`s all me, I got something for everyone."
In the first instance, roDDie is an extraordinary rapper who is playing and dealing with
any argument, sometimes in a ironic or sarcastic way but always conscious enough to differ
and to deliver himself of his opinion.
But his singing is not to be disregarded. "I work on my voice whenever I can", says the
bass-baritone. "In the future you will have to watch out for me".
Definitely! In his young career which started when he met his former mentor Willie Bivins
(aka Willie Will) native of Atlanta,(Ga) he has been able to perform with
professional musicians and singers such as Willie Will, Dave The Slave,
Rick Washington, David Thomas, Volkan (Orange Blue), DJ Airknee (Jazzkantine),
Lars Lehmann, Soulpower, etc...
